Next House is equipped with everything you need to make your everyday lives as easy as possible. The main lounge in each wing has a tv connected to MIT cable, as well as a DVD player. There is a high-definition tv in the TFL on the first floor with DirecTV, a dvd player, and surround sound. We have two pool tables and a ping-pong table located in the basement. Our front desk provides vacuums, sports equipment, DVD rentals, and a whole slew of board games for your enjoyment.

country kitchen

Our in-house dining hall serves meals five nights a week. However, if you like to cook, we have a fully equipped country kitchen, located in the basement just to the right of the elevators. Here you will find cooking utensils as well as several ovens, stoves, and freezers to store your food. The country kitchen has plenty of space for cooking as well as hosting small gatherings. The key to the kitchen can be checked out from the front desk.

weight and exercise rooms

The weight room on the first floor has much of the equipment necessary to maintain an active healthy lifestyle. The exercise room, conveniently located next to the main stairwell, contains all sorts of equipment including ellipticals, stationary bikes, and treadmills.

music practice room

The music practice room is located on the first floor, just passed the TFL near the elevators. This room is a nice quiet place to practice at all hours of the day. There are various music stands, along with a drum set, an upright piano, and an electric keyboard.

laundry

The laundry room is located in the basement to the left of the elevators. There are ten washers and twelve dryers. Residents can pay for their laundry using quarters or Techcash using the card swiper. Next House also uses the LaundryView system to monitor progress of laundry, including text alerts when one's laundry is done!

conference room

The conference room is a good, private space for studying, group meetings, and small gatherings. Conveniently located right off of the dining hall, residents can eat in the conference room while working on other projects. There is also a ceiling-mounted lcd projector and recessed projection screen for watching movies.
